Participation in all studies is optional. While it's very important for us and the study staff to make sure you remain in the study to the end, at any time if you change your mind for any reason, you can leave the study. To do so, you can simply press Leave Study from study home page in Ethica to leave a study.
Leaving a study does not delete the data you had collected as part of your participation. If you need to delete your data as well, you can do so through the Ethica website.
When you decide you leave a study, it's very important for the research team to know what led to you change your mind and leave. So some studies create short surveys asking a few questions about the reason behind your decision. This will help them to improve their study the next time.
Exit surveys will be asked when you confirm that you want to leave a study. It's very valuable if you spend a minute or two explain your reasons, before leaving the study.
